In the Cox models run as a sensitivity analysis for the consensus classifications for CVD and cancer deaths, the HRs for the FI remained essentially the same (cancer mortality HR 1.06, 95%CI 1.00-1.13, p=0.05; CVD mortality HR 1.12, 95%CI 1.08-1.16), yet the former association was attenuated to borderline significance.
