The Cochran-Armitage test for trend was highly significant between history of Calabar swelling and the degree of sylvan exposures ( P = 0.006) and age groups ( P = 0.001). 70.9% of people with occasional forest exposure and over 90% with daily exposure reported subsistence activities as reason for forest exposure ( Table 5 ).
