To test the possible presence of correlation effects across all conditions (that might not be significant when restricted to the subset of trials of one condition), we performed ANCOVA models, in which APB and ADM MEPs values were used as dependent variables (in separated analyses), with “conditions” (CS-, CS+ Paired and CS+ Unpaired) and “group” (Pain and No-Pain Group) as categorical predictors and the STAI-trait scores as covariate.
