Since the publication of the green top guideline on best practice in outpatient hysteroscopy by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2011 14 there is an increasing trend nationally toward offering ambulatory hysteroscopic procedures and optimizing patient experience with particular interest in pain control during these procedures.
