Indeed, the literature reveals that left-behind Bangladeshi, Indonesian, Filipino, Sri Lankan and Vietnamese fathers do assume ‘mothering’ roles to varying degrees, and this may be an increasing trend in some parts of Asia where nuclear families are becoming more prevalent.
