In an analysis of administrative discharge data on 41,776 patients from 236 hospitals in New York State, Philbin and DiSalvo 16 also showed a decreasing trend in CHF readmission rates from lowest income quartile to highest and found that lower income was a statistically significant predictor of CHF readmission risk (OR 1.18, P <0.001).
