Lastly, as this study focussed on human infection, we were unable to assess the role of potential zoonotic transmission, which is likely to be significant in this setting. 15 Despite these limitations, we describe the first data from Lao defining the Salmonella serovars associated with iNTS disease and their antimicrobial susceptibility profiles.
