A recent systematic review of 37 studies with national coverage in 22 countries reported a prevalence of approximately 70% or higher around age 60 years in Central and South America and Asia in the late 1990s and early 2000s, with a decreasing trend in most countries where data are available for different time periods [ 34 ].
