Highly significant statistical heterogeneity between studies was found in the meta-analyses of HBsAg prevalence in studies comparing both universal and targeted vaccination with unvaccinated cohorts ( I 2 = 98%, P < 0.001 and I 2 = 89%, P < 0.001, respectively).
