15 Among 55 000 post‐PCI patients in the Blue Cross/Blue Shield database, prasugrel was used in 17% of patients, with an increasing trend in prasugrel use (8.4% in quarter 1 to 22.3% in quarter 8). 7 Similarly, in the National Cardiovascular Data Registry (NCDR) ACTION Registry–Get With the Guidelines (ACTION‐GWTG) registry, upstream prasugrel use increased from 3% in 2009 to 18% in 2012. 16 However, these settings also observed frequent use of prasugrel in non‐ACS (28%) and high‐bleeding‐risk or contraindicated settings (34%).
