According to the Mann-Whitney U test, difference between chitosan and formocresol was not significant ( P =0.233); difference between chitosan and CMCP was marginally significant, with chitosan showing a greater reduction ( P =0.041, mean ranks: Chitosan=18.77, CMCP=12.23); and there was a marginally significant difference between formocresol and CMCP ( P =0.045, mean ranks: Formocresol=18.73, CMCP=12.27).
