The Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) [ 11 ] was used for the assessment, with a total score of 0–7 indicating no depression or anxiety, a total score of 8–10 indicating possible or threshold depression or anxiety, and a total score of 11–20 indicating possibly significant depression or anxiety.
