Interestingly, despite the fact that the actual target of selection is not known, the clinal frequency change is highly significant ( p < 0.008) based on Student’s t test for 10,000 random sets of SNPs generated by jackknifing 21 SNPs out of the 197 SNPs segregating in the region of interest (3R: 4,239,638-4,271,390, Additional file 1 : Figure S15).
