Although the elevation of IOP is well-known to affect retinal perfusion (Geijer and Bill, 1979 ; Zhi et al., 2012 , 2015 ; He et al., 2013 ), the IOP during the ischemic phase of IR surgery ranges from 60 to 120 mmHg, and the reservoir height used is not standardized, meaning that there may be significant variation between investigators (Zheng et al., 2007 ; Huang et al., 2013 ; Hu et al., 2015 ; Seong et al., 2017 ; Zanoni et al., 2017 ).
