Our model results (see Methods for details) show that the differences between chimpanzees from Ngogo and Issa were highly significant in the δ 13 C values ( χ 2 = 61.45, df = 1, p < 0.0001) and the δ 15 N values ( χ 2 = 80.67, df = 1, p < 0.0001), with Issa chimpanzees being less depleted in 13 C, and much lower in 15 N (Fig. 2c , Table 1 ).
