Although this change was not statistically significant with an alpha level of 0.05, t (103) = 1.18, P = 0.240, the 16.6% drop corresponds to a practically significant change with an average of 1 laboratory draw eliminated per pediatric patient in the first week of TPN administration (Table 2 ).
