There was a marginally significant difference in proportions of females that paired with different types of males ( X 2 = 6.014, df = 2, p = 0.049): the females of both subspecies were more likely to pair with Amur wagtail males, while intermediate females were more likely to pair with Black-backed Wagtail males.
