among medical students in the presmartphone period had reported mobile phone addiction in only 18.5% medical students, which suggests an increasing trend toward mobile phone addiction.[ 21 ] In contradiction to previous studies by Yildirim et al .,[ 22 ] Sharma et al .,[ 6 ] and Nikhita et al .,[ 9 ] the present study did not find the female gender at a higher risk of mobile phone addiction.
