The most abundant taxon in vaginal communities and health complications (preeclampsia, diabetes, oligohydramnios, or uncomplicated pregnancy) in gut and oral communities were highly significant sources of variation in gene family abundances based on RDA of the overall data (vagina: F = 14.97, P = 0.001; saliva: F = 11.20, P = 0.001; gut: F = 12.34, P = 0.001) ( Fig. 2 C,E,G), although the numbers of subjects with each of these complications were small.
