Further t -tests revealed that, during the initial time window of a typical C1 component (i.e., 50–70 ms), the C1 evoked by abrupt onsets was highly significant for both the UVF (site POz: −0.642 ± 0.158 μV, t (23) = −4.054, p < 0.001; Figure 2 , red) and the LVF (0.406 ± 0.081 μV, t (23) = 4.988, p < 0.001; Figure 2 , blue).
