Oregano Oil Significantly Reduced Bacterial Burden in Burn Wounds Infected With USA300 As shown in Figure 5A , an average reduction in bacterial luminescence of 2.9 log 10 was attained when the infected wounds were treated with oregano oil at 5 mg/ml for 40 min, which was highly significant compared to only 0.4 log 10 decline of the bioluminescence in the absence of oregano oil during the same period ( P < 0.0001; Figure 5A ).
