We measured both whole songs and the trilled portion of songs, and all outcomes were in the same direction and similarly achieved or failed to achieve significance; therefore, we report our findings for trills alone, as the majority of information (complexity) occurs in the trilled portion of the song, whereas whistles are generally less-masked.
