A large meta-analysis of 3703 patients from 11 randomized trials showed a highly significant 44% reduction in the odds of recurrence at 1 year in favor of chemotherapy over transurethral resection of bladder tumors (TURs) alone, consistent with the European Association of Urology (EAU) guidelines.
