A randomised controlled trial (RCT) of a group counselling intervention which used a problem-solving therapy approach was associated with a marginally significant reduction in depression compared to standard of care (i.e. pre- and post-test voluntary counselling and testing for HIV and information on how to access prevention of vertical transmission of HIV services) among pregnant women living with HIV in Tanzania [84] .
