Surprisingly, however, there was an interaction between the effects of NS-identity and social environment on both the frequency of courtship display ( t 136 = 5.431, p < 0.0001) and courtship receipt ( t 136 = 1.896, p = 0.06) involving the focal fly, although this interaction was marginally nonsignificant in the case of courtship receipt.
