The finding that a higher level of symptoms at baseline was associated with greater satisfaction with care at follow-up is likely because these individuals had a greater scope to improve their symptoms over time, as there was a statistical trend for a lower level of symptoms at baseline to be associated with greater satisfaction toward care at baseline, and greater reduction in symptoms over time was associated with change to higher level of satisfaction.
