We are aware that caution has to be applied when interpreting marginally significant effects (such as the effects of microorganisms in interaction or independently of treatment on the number of adult males or the treatment effect on C. bombi prevalence), since the probability of a false-positive finding increases with the number of parameters tested and can be much greater than the probability of falsely rejecting the null hypothesis evaluated by P -values 57 .
