Summarily, DMD is a recessive disease, in which any induction of dystrophin protein expression might be significant, particularly if it is above the percentage of revertant fibers, which are infrequently generated by rare cells with spontaneous somatic mutation(s) that result in dystrophin protein re-expression 37 .
