Two notable adverse effects were observed with 2DG treatment delivered I.P.: first, upon injection, 2DG-treated mice showed inactivity for 10–60 minutes, and, second, as the experiment progressed, the 2DG-treated mice showed lower weight gain compared to glucose-treated mice, although the difference did not achieve significance ( Figure 1E ).
