Interestingly, the incidence pattern reported in Italy was observed in many countries with a high or very high human development index (HDI), namely Australia, Canada, Russia, the United States and Europe (Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, Sweden and United Kingdom), although in the United States the incidence has begun to show signs of a decreasing trend among females since 2010 ( 16 ).
