We found that those diagnosed with a prior rare cancer had a 23% higher risk of developing a subsequent cancer during follow-up than those with no prior cancer (CSHR = 1.23, 95% CI: 0.99–1.52, p = 0.06), while neither of the other comparisons of the three groups even approached significant differences.
