There was a decreasing trend in the risk of stroke death overtime, where patients initiating ESKD treatment in ≤1995 and 1996–2005 were 93% (SHR 1.93, 95% CI 1.56 to 2.39) and 30% (SHR 1.30, 95% CI 1.09 to 1.55), respectively, more likely to die from stroke death compared with those in 2006–2013 (p<0.001).
