Since both the genotype:sucrose and sucrose:light interaction terms of a three-way ANOVA were highly significant ( Supplementary Table S13 ), the data suggest that in R (and with no sucrose supplementation), active phyA keeps root growth at the same levels as they are in darkness, while in the absence of its activity, R increases root growth.
