Spain continues to have a particularly high rate of antibiotic prescription [ 19 ]; moreover, the latest update on antibiotic use published by the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control —referring to the period 2010–2014— pointed to an increasing trend in the European Union in general [ 20 ].
