Monitoring of milk from a single mother at different lactation stages (starting with the first days) reveals that concentration of heavy metals in milk shows a decreasing trend (Chao et al. 2014 ; Islam et al. 2014 ; Krachler et al. 1998 ; Leotsinidis et al. 2005 ) It is suggested that this trend is caused by the changes in the amount of milk protein that bind metals and fat content during the lactation (Sowers et al. 2002 ; Park et al. 2018 ) It is not possible to clearly evaluate factors contributing to and the degree of exposure to heavy metals.
