There are two differences between the enzymes which may be significant for the inhibitor binding MβLs: (1) The distance between Zn(II) ion and Asp124 which interacts with the hydroxyl group and the triazole ring of 2 in NDM-1, is bigger in VIM-2 (16.12 Å, PDB code 4NQ2) than in NDM-1 (2.12 Å, PDB code 4EYL).
