Both the frontal and occipital petalia (see Table 2 ) were highly significant in humans [ t (90) = − 4.94, p < 0.0005 and t (90) = − 7.69, p < 0.0005, respectively], whereas no significant asymmetry was found in either petalia in chimpanzees.
