In a comparative analysis of high, medium, and low Si-accumulating plants such as rice, cucumber, and tomato, it was observed that Si transport is facilitated by transporters (Km value 0.15 mM) across the cortical cells, whereas Vmax value followed a decreasing trend from rice to cucumber to tomato, thereby showing a significant variation in the transport density.
