As for organismal systems, the relative abundances of the genes involved in the immune system, endocrine system, and circulatory system at the 25 ppm ammonia level significantly increased compared with those in the other groups and showed an increasing trend in the digestive system and excretory system with increasing gaseous ammonia levels.
The results of environmental information processing showed a significant decrease in the relative abundances of the genes involved in signal transduction and membrane transport when pigs were exposed to gaseous ammonia at 25 ppm and showed a decreasing trend with increasing ammonia concentrations ( Figure 4B ).
