After adjusting for chronic diseases, the association between FOF and mortality was attenuated and was borderline significant (HR 1.26, 95% CI 0.97–1.63), although a history of injurious falls was still a risk factor for mortality (HR 1.31, 95% CI: 1.00–1.71).
