In contrast to central population 2, central population 1 showed a significant increase in calcification rates in the light under central conditions ( p < 0.05, Tukey HSD p < 0.01, 2‐way ANOVA) and both showed a highly significant lower rate under southern conditions ( p < 0.01, Tukey HSD p < 0.01, 2‐way ANOVA in both cases) compared to pre‐experiment as well as the central conditions ( p < 0.05, Tukey HSD p < 0.05, 2‐way ANOVA in both cases).
