The meta-analysis yielded a borderline significant association between hypertension and risk of breast cancer (Fig. 2 ; n = 13 prospective studies; RR, 1.07; 95% CI, 0.99–1.15; I 2 , 65.4%) 33 , 34 , 37 , 44 , 65 , 69 , 73 , 76 , 84 , 85 , 87 , 99 , 110 , but the association was not significant for post-menopausal breast cancer risk (n = 5 studies; RR, 1.06; 95% CI, 0.86–1.29; I 2 , 47%) 33 , 34 , 37 , 44 , 87 .
