Stratified analysis by family history of CRC revealed highly significant associations between the two intronic variants, rs10505477 and rs6983267 located in the CASC8 ( cancer susceptibility candidate 8 ) gene and lower risk of adenomas in the subgroup of patients with no family history of CRC (controls) (Table 3 ).
