Differences in cognitive scores between PLWH and older HIV‐negative controls appeared at least marginally statistically significant; however, the size of the association with HIV infection itself (effect sizes of −0.14 and −0.17 for older and younger PLWH, respectively) appeared to be moderate, broadly equating to the association seen between mild/moderate depression and the global Z ‐score (effect sizes of −0.08 and −0.17, respectively).
