Meta-analysis study on patients with advanced disease showed highly significant association between elevated serum LDH levels and poor survival in patients with solid tumors such as renal cell carcinoma, prostate, gastric, melanoma, nasopharyngeal and lung cancers and highlights use of LDH as a prognostic biomarker in advanced carcinomas [ 104 ].
