A perusal of the data revealed that the activities of antioxidative enzymes and ROS metabolites in the sweetpotato roots had a highly significant and positive correlation with the corresponding parameters in the leaves, such as APX activity ( r = 0.910), POD activity ( r = 0.834), CAT activity ( r = 0.430), SOD activity ( r = 0.940), LOX activity ( r = 0.943), H 2 O 2 content ( r = 0.758), ⋅O 2 − production ( r = 0.912) and MDA content ( r = 0.934), suggesting that similar ROS scavenging capacity and ROS metabolites existed in sweetpotato leaves and roots.
