an increasing trendno p-value reported
Prostate cancer incidence has been observed to rise steeply associated with the introduction of PSA testing in the early 1990s, peaking in 1994 and then showing a decline from 1997 to 1999, followed by an increasing trend till 2009. 6 We believe that the peak in incidence seen in 1994 could be attributed in part to the listing of the PSA case-finding test on the Medical Benefits Scheme that year, which enabled men to access this service at little or no cost to the consumer.
