Although it has its limitations, as various factors can affect the reliability, reproducibility, and robustness of texture features, we were able to use this rudimentary feature classification technology to show moderate correlations nearing significance between clinical neonate variables and certain texture variables, even with a small patient sample. 46 While we obtained small effect sizes with this small patient sample, this is an early result that warrants further study.
