Gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA) revealed a highly significant downregulation of the activity of pathways involved in cell cycle, DNA repair, RNA biology, protein synthesis, and cytokines in D organoids; this was accompanied by increased activity of pathways involved in epithelial differentiation/cell–cell adhesion, intracellular traffic (endocytosis, lysosome), and signaling (phosphatidylinositol, Notch, Wnt, MAPK, mTOR) (Table 1 ).
