The sequences of clade B formed six highly significant sub-clades: two (B1 and B2) of 15 isolates, each sampled at different times and localities, mainly in north-east Italy (Veneto and Emilia Romagna); one (B5) of eight isolates sampled between 2014 and 2018 in north-west Italy (Lombardy); and three (B3, B4 and B6) of 3–5 isolates that were less persistent, and sampled mainly in north-west Italy.
